Vic Smoke testing rebate deadline and We are Open

We want to assure you that Vintessential Laboratories are OPEN for business.

We are committed to the safety of our team and customers. In keeping with the latest advice, we are taking all steps to reduce the possibility of transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

If you intend to visit our laboratory, please call ahead on 1300 30 2242. Our door will be locked but we have placed a box outside our front door where you can leave any samples. If you’d like to collect any products from the lab, please also call ahead and we will leave your order in the collection box for you. You can still send your samples to us by courier or Australia Post.

To minimise the risk of in-person contact, we will no longer be doing personal pickup of samples or dropoff of products at your premises.

Deadline for submission of AgVic Smoke Taint Testing Rebate Claims Tuesday 31st March.

As previously announced, the Victorian Government has established the Wine Grape Testing Rebate Program to assist Victorian wine grape growers to assess the impact of smoke exposure from the 2019-20 bushfires on wine grapes grown during the 2019-20 growing season by offering a rebate on the costs of laboratory analysis of wine grape, grape juice and wine samples.

The program offers a rebate of up to $1,200 to Victorian wine grape growers on samples submitted for smoke testing between 1 January 2020 and 30 April 2020.

The program is open to all Victorian wine grape growers including wineries that grow their own grapes. Regional Wine Associations and wineries may also apply where they have a pre-existing agreement with growers to test grapes.

The NSW Wine Industry Association will administer the repayment of these monies for all legitimate claims. This will be made after all rebate claims are submitted, the deadline for submission is Friday, March 20th 2020.

Summary:

  • Rebate of up to $1200 per producer/ grower for NSW
  • Rebate made available through support from NSW Government
  • Money will be paid through the NSW Wine Industry Association for paid invoices completed for smoke taint testing
  • Submission forms are available via the buttons on the right on NSW Wine webpage (see link below) They need to be accurately completed by Friday 20th March
  • Money will be paid from Monday 30th March onwards
