Soil Testing

Sample collection:

Samples should be collected in accordance with the procedures prescribed in the Australian Soil and Land survey Field Handbook.

Generally speaking it is better to take many sub-samples, mix them and send a sample of this mixture for testing. If the soil composition changes from say sandy to clay, then send different samples from each soil type.

Generally we need about 2 cups (500g) of soil per sample.

Pour sample into a clean plastic bag, label and deliver to the laboratory.
